Here is a list of the best markets in Srinagar, to help you find what to buy and where in this beautiful city. Without some shopping, your holiday here isn't complete.

Lal Chowk


Lal Chowk is one of the most popular shopping spots in Srinagar. The streets here are dotted with shops, vendors and customers busy haggling for the best prices. Carvings made out of walnut wood, Pashmina handlooms, jewelry boxes, tiny trinkets are sold like hot cakes here. The walnut wood found here is considered as the best in terms of quality. Items made out of it include trays, nut bowls, photo frames, salad bowls and furniture. There are a wide range of traditional Kashmiri paintings to choose from for art lovers.

Residency Road


Situated near Lal Chowk is the famous Residency Road in Srinagar, which is the best market for Kashmiri handicrafts, dry fruits and ethnic dongra jewelry. Apricots, figs, dates and raisins are some of the dry fruits that can be bought here. Some shops sell wide varieties of walnuts like burzil walnuts and kagzi walnuts that are sold in huge bags. High quality aromatic spices like cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cardamom, pepper, etc. can also be purchased here.

Badshah Chowk
is the place from where you can buy world-famous Kashmiri carpets. Various carpets with intricate patterns and designs are sold here at reasonable prices. There are numerous shops at the chowk that sell Pashmina shawls and a wide variety of embroidered clothes, including Indian salwar suits. The best part is that you can even place personalized carpet orders here.

This is one of the best markets in Srinagar to buy some exciting souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones. Polo View Market is laden with shops selling Pashmina items like jamawars (a kind of shawl) along with wooden jewelry boxes and walnut-wood carved items. Also, a wide range of papier-mâché products of various sizes, colours and forms--like show pieces, statues, vases and Christmas decorations, can be found here.

There floating vegetable market on the Dal Lake is famous for selling fresh vegetables and flowers in the region. It may not be a very good idea to carry these perishable products back home but this unique market is definitely worth a visit and is a major tourist attraction.

Yes, We did shopping at Polo View Market, Srinagar. I Personally think Polo View market is one of the best market in Kashmir, If you are really looking for Exquisite handicrafts. Its place to get Good and Real Kashmiri Handicrafts.

K SALAMA at 33 POLO VIEW was the best shop for shopping !!! Do Visit them:)


If any body ask me the best place to go for shopping that is Heritage .that is a society shop and every product is labled and fix priced. HERITAGE 10 nishat shopping complex opposite nishat garden
