A one day trip to Coimbatore is not complete without visiting its beautiful temples, waterfalls and natural beauty. Besides its close proximity to popular hill stations like Ooty and Coonoor, the city is a splendid sight itself!

A visit to the temples

There is nothing better than starting your day filled with holy blessings and Coimbatore has the most spectacular ancient temples which have immense beauty and spiritual solace. The Marudhamalai Murugan Temple, located at a height of 500 feet on the western ghats is dedicated to the Lord Muruga.

Waterfalls and nature at its best

Kovai Kutralam Waterfalls, though located around 37 km away from the city are totally worth the drive. Surrounded by beautiful lush green forests, flora and wildlife, it is truly a beautiful sight. Though there are very few buses available to this place, it is easily accessible via car or a cab.

A visit to Monkey Falls is a must, located near the uphill ghat road Valparai on the Pollachi-Valparai road in the Anaimalai Hills range, which is 65 km from Coimbatore. A three hour trek, which goes from gentle to steep as one progresses.

One can also club this with a visit to Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. It is the largest and the most well preserved sanctuary in Coimbatore. With over 2000 species and interestingly few tribal communities also live here.

While you enjoy a one day trip to Coimbatore, there is so much to explore from beautiful architecture to splendid natural beauty of nature.
