One day trip to Hyderabad might not let you explore the city as much as you should but will truly capture its essence. There is so much to see and do in Hyderabad that covering the city in a day seems grossly unfair and a big shame. However, if you are running short of time and are here for just a day, this simple plan of a one day tour to Hyderabad will give you an idea of how to get the best out of your day within a such a short time.

If you are here on a weekend, you should start with a heritage walk early in the morning (Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace), followed by breakfast at Chutneys or at Minerva. Go for a heavy breakfast since you’ll be doing a lot of roaming before it’s lunchtime.

In case you are here on a weekday, try a walk around the Hussain Sagar loop (Necklace road). You can also get cycles on rent near the Sanjeevaiah Park station on the Necklace road.

Your next stop should be Golconda Fort. It should take you around 2-3 hours here. You can also check out the Qutub Shahi Tombs about 2 km away before it is time for lunch. Right there on Toli Chowki you have the option of a number of good eateries out there. Four seasons and Shah Ghouse cafe are recommended option for Biryani.

After your lunch, you can visit the Salarjung museum. In case you didn’t do the Heritage walk in the morning, you can visit Charminar and Chowmahalla Palace at this point.

Spend your evening at the famous Lumbini Park. It has a spectacular laser show that begins around 7 pm. You may also take a boat ride on the Hussain Sagar if your wish. Please note that the park is closed on Mondays.

This trip cannot be complete without a visit to the super famous Paradise Restaurant, which is a Mecca for Biryanis. Order a steaming plate complete with Mirchi ka Salan and Kebabs and you’ll have a dinner to remember!

If you feel like buying some souvenirs, the night bazaar at Shilparamam is a good bet.

This is the best you can do on your one day trip to Hyderabad, which would make the most of your short stay here. For more information, please check out other places to visit in Hyderabad.
