Wonderful Place

This is a lovely place with a superb garden and view from the lawns. Staff are very friendly and warm. Hotel is well located.
Eating in-house is a tad expensive, but there are plenty of options around nearby.
We had booked two rooms for a weekend. Unfortunately, the hot water was an issue when we stayed there. With temperatures around 7-8 degrees C, that is an absolute necessity !
Otherwise, wonderful stay and would go there again !
Overrated!! Overpriced!!

McIver Villa came highly rated to us when we moved to Wellington for a brief while, about 4 years ago. I loved the food then but found everything extremely overpriced. Revisited this December, the menu is even more limited and for some reason they keep selling you wierd stuff like stuffed turkey with oregano. Fantastic stay in a tasteful resort!
by RajeswariP on 27 Dec 2018 (Family Traveller)
We recently stayed at McIver in the Cresswell room. The overall stay was lovely, the property is very well and tastefully maintained. The view from here of the Nilgiris is totally spectacular, 180 degrees indeed!
Preena the liaison person was very resourceful and accommodating. A few of the support staff were very handy and quick to help us on our requests.
The place was beautifully lit up for the festive season and this spread a pleasant festive cheer. A bonfire of sorts could have been orga...

Comfortable stay
by AndyPat365 on 12 Dec 2018 (Friends Traveller)
The hotel is well loca5ed above Coonoor, with the only downside being having to go through the horrid traffic while getting to the hotel.
I didn't find anything to complain about the food but it's nothing to write home about.
The staff is eager to help but could do with more specific training. Mr. Suresh was very helpful durimg our stay.
The rooms are comfortable and well enough equipped for a hotel in this price category.
I would consider staying here again on any future trip to Coonoor.
