Best place to stay in Khajuraho

by RicottaLover on 20 Mar 2018 (Friends Traveller)

We loved spending a night in this school-accommodation! Many house works are also about to be done, the host said, so it will soon be even better! Nice coloured rooms at the ground floor, a couple of smaller ones with shared bathroom upstairs. The basic accommodation pays the visit with the school right outdoor with the opportunity to meet the children and volounteer for a period as well as with the super quiet surrounding of a small farm. Love to go back! Easy walk from the main temples and tuk...

food with love

by anatrincao on 11 Mar 2018 (Solo Traveller)

You order in advance. Good food takes time, your are told! <3 You go up to the roof top, or sit together with whom is around in the living room. Food is served to you, made with love and full of flavor.

I celebrate my birthday!

by Erica Y on 22 Dec 2017 (Friends Traveller)

I came to this place 3 months ago. I was so happy to be there. For you who are doing backpacking, you can stay at the dorm (just donate). Bathroom was OK. You also can take a private room (with living room). I had no idea how much is it but I think it won't be expensive. I stayed for 6 days. I brought lot of books to donate to their library. And I celebrate my birthday there. Sushma cooked really good foods! Murari is really hospitable and kind. They even decorated for my birthday party! Thats...

Cheap, confortable and calm.

by MarceloCalegare on 15 Dec 2017

PROS. Just 7-10 minutes walk from Mahabodhi Temple. Staff very sweet. Rooms well decorated and very confortable, with good matress and also a living room! Clean. Super cheap. At night is silent. As it is not in the middle of the temples' area, you feel like in a Indian village. In the property there is a school ran by the guests' money. Super recommend this hostel. CONS. Many mosquitos in the hole city!

A shining, riverside gem: peace and sanctuary with a delightful primary school

by Francis H on 11 Oct 2017 (Solo Traveller)

This place is a dream. Located on the banks of a wide river bed of sand and palm trees, A Bowl of Compassion is the ideal backpacker spot in (actually on the peaceful outskirts of) Bodhgaya. The centre of town is a 15-20 min leisurely walk away, which serves as a perfect buffer between you, the other tourists, and the touts. If you like rural calm, and playful children, stay here. Price is discretionary; you simply pay a donation to the attached school, which was established in 2008, and whose...
