about ambala

Ambala, an active Air Force and Military base, is of great defense importance. Ambala is a major Railway junction and has three railway stations. Due to its geographic location, It is a significant transit point for many tourists who want to travel to places like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and deeper into Punjab. Its home to many hindu and sikh pilgrimage places like the Manji Sahib Gurudwara, Badshahi Bag Gurudwara, Sis Ganj Gurudwara, A war memorial (Ambala Airfield), Udyan Gardens and Hathi Kanna Mandir among others are also quite popular. For the shopaholics, do not dare miss the 'Cloth Market' which is regarded as the largest cloth trading market in the sub-continent(Asia). There is hardly any Indian 'bride to be' who misses the opportunity of coming down to Ambala for her wedding trousseau. The Science Market is a major scientific products market and is a hub for products like microscopes and laboratory equipment etc. While here do not forget to dig in Puran Chand da Dhaba's North Indian mughlai delicacies.
