Peek into Bangalore's royal history
10 Nov 2014
Dark green ivy clinging onto the sandy brown walls Bangalore Palace can be seen from a distance as you enter the large compound. Constructed by Rev. Garett, it is now owned by the Mysore royal family and is considered a replica of the Windsor castle in London. A well-organised audio tour of the ballroom on the ground floor and the elaborate Durbar Hall on the first is packed with paintings, artefacts, mounted animal heads and more – this can take upto 2 hours. Since this is a self-operated guided walk, you can choose to listen to all or make only specific stops. A horse carriage ride around the palace grounds in an old buggy is also available for children’s entertainment.

I went with my friends to the Bangalore Palace as a part of the College tour. It was really nice to such a beautiful palace and the architecture wa great. We learnt the history about the place and gain some knowledge about it. It's good place to gain knowledge and for the history lovers. The palace was neatly maintained and clean. Worth to visit this palace.

It looks great from outside. I found so many things to learn there, but ticket charges are very high, they are charging 400 rs to take camera inside. But the only palace in bangalore any one would like to visit. Its a very place to organize marriage or reception ceremony.

A Wonderful palace

Last year i went to Bangalore for an interview, this was my first visit to Bangalore which has cool climate and huge traffic. After finishing my interview i have visited this Bangalore palace, entry fee is too high but overall this palace is wonderfull in British style. Inside the palace i have observed Darbar hall, dinning table of diwan of Mysore etc., A beautiful garden is there also some music concert also arranged in this palace to attract tourists. One should visit this place if they visit Bangalore.

Bangalore Palace - be prepared to pay for the privilege of taking pictures
20 Jun 2014
The history of the palace was interesting even though it's only 19th century and the audio guide is very good. What I found amazing is that the you have to pay to take pictures. Regular cameras cost more than a cell phone. The palace needs some restoration but I still enjoyed the tour. It's not a long tour but was historically interesting.

Entry fees is 225/person.It's a gem of architecture yet people don't find it good because they come with so much expectations.People have lost taste of cultural heritage.Although a bit expensive as the far as it has to offer, still a must visit.

Put it on #1 in your must visit List in Bengaluru. The Camera charges are separate from the visitors entry charges. Lots of history inside the palace, so one should take the guided tour.

This is a nice 1-2 hour sightseeing if you are visiting bangalore for the first time. The place actually hosts music concerts as well and some really big rock groups have performed here.
