about berlin wall

The Berlin Wall was constructed with the primary intention of dividing Germany up for better administration as per the ideology of the then staunchly socialist inclined rulers and to keep fascist elements at bay - primarily to prevent them from brain washing the populace against socialist sentiments.

In 1961, the wall’s construction begun with barbed wires and concrete to make a marked division between East and West Berlin and prevent emigration during the times of the World War, complete with a “death strip” and pipes that were too smooth for anyone to climb over.

Towards the end of the 19th century, the German Communist Party dropped the strict border and said that people were free to cross over. It since then, has become associative of people’s sentimentality towards the communist regime and an important symbol of their own freedom at large. The wall since the crossover, has been depleted and restored from time to time.
