We decided to break up our trip from Jaisalmer to Haridwar with a stop over in Bikaner. Bhairon Vilas was a great option we got 2 rooms cheaper than 1 room in a backpackers in Sydney. All in a heritage hotel!! 😎 Staff were very friendly and helpful but I do get what other reviewers say about organisation. When asked a question they have to find whoever does that function in the hotel to get the answer or bring them. Rooms are well done and functional. Nice touches with the painting and decora...

Bhairon Vilas, Bikaner

by Marilyn S on 24 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Wow! What a place. Like staying in a living museum. Every room is different & brimming with character & collectibles. It takes a while to take in the furnishings & decoration of your room. The grounds are a characterful warren with lovely peaceful gardens, yet right opposite the fort in the heart of Bikaner. Great views of the fort from the lofty roof. Nice pool. Wifi in the garden, lobby only. Good hot water. The bar is something else presided over by the entertaining & helpful owner Harsh. Spe...

Nice hotel quite calm, but staff needs lot of improvement at the restaurant. The waiter is very unfriendly, non smily and very unorganized. Lovely rooms. Difficult check out as credit card do not play before 10am........ So prepare cash if leaving before.

Awesome hotel - never been anywhere like it!

We were blown away by this hotel - it's food for the eyes. There's something beautiful everywhere you look - from the four poster beds and intricate wall paintings, the banana trees in the garden, the vintage coffee shop with beautiful indian quilting on the ceiling or the way there is no glass in the windows - just wooden shutters - which look out onto the amazing Junagarh Fort over the road (although this did make it quite noisy from the city noises). If your standards are high, then this mig...

About Bhairon Villas by Geostays

In a Nutshell

The name Bikaner conjures up images of sinuous sand dunes, the Junagadh forts and many pale sand stone monuments sprinkled over the Rajasthani town. A town steeped in history and colourful festivals, it is one that must be on your Rajasthan itinerary. Even where the accommodations are concerned, Bikaner offers mélange of high-end hotels, heritage havelis, guesthouses and hostels. Bhairon Vilas is one such option that is sure to leave you mesmerised. Its weathered walls and signature royal indicate the illustrious lineage. The hotel lies just walking distance from the famous Junagadh fort. The history of the hotel goes back in time when Maharaja Gaj Singh ruled the city, assisted by his competent Prime Minister, Maharaj Bhairon Singh Ji. The hotel is the erstwhile residence of the Prime Minister.
