The temple is a centre for spirituality. The holy environment makes you to stay for hours. The architecture is marvellous, and pushes to visit again and again.

Birla Temple in Cacutta is a land mark. This is situated close to Ballygunge Circular road on SM Avenue. This is huge white structure with beautiful architectural design. It houses Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganapathi. The environment is truly spiritual and there is a complete serenity inside. If you spend one hr there simply by sitting infront of the Goddess, you will feel an absolute calmness within you and a divine presence. I recommend this place to all my fellow travellers when they are in Calcutta. This temple complex has it's main temple, and many smaller temples within the walls, so there is a lot to see, and many options for the faithful. The place is clean and well maintained. Well worth the visit. Like all temples, duration of stay is faith dependent.

An architectural marvel ! The JK temple in Kanpur is a replica of this one. The atmosphere inside is quite divine and you can just sit for hours and feel at peace in the serenity inside. The priests are courteous and dont take offerings. It's clean and well managed. Cameras and mobile phones not allowed inside.

A calm and peaceful place in the middle of the city. They don't allow bags and cell phones inside and also dont have any locker system to put your belongings. So make sure you have some place to keep your things while coming here.
