Family Reunion

by Portucale on 16 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

A fantastic venue for a family reunion. Lovely bar/reception area where we sat and enjoyed a bit of banter before going to our rooms to get changed for the night ahead. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at standard of our room. The bed linen was lovely and clean fresh and white. Plenty pillows too! The only issue was with the heating system, just couldn't get it working so a bit cold. Rod Stewart tribute was great and the DJ kept us on our toes all night. The food was very good and the s...

Rod Stewart tribute nyt

by catgeo27 on 16 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

Dunno where to start!! Food was ok apart from pudding which was cheesecake or chocolate fudge cake. Both were obviously shop bought & not home made considering it was a hotel! Plus our table received their choc cake without any cream & when said to waiter his reply was I dunno if that's how it comes? Really? Bruce hotel please brief ur staff before service. Plus our table was served half our starters until we brought it to the waitresses attention after 5mins. Not good enough for a hotel. Not on...

Christmas night out

by lizzy1950 on 12 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

We were at our xmas night out at the Bruce Hotel when we entered the dining area the hall was cold I don't think there was any heating on, but the tables were set lovely for the meal and it was very nice the soup was great and the main meal and desert were good. The bar prices were a bit much but I suppose its the same at all hotels. It was a DJ all night and I thought the music was varied as it was all different ages that were there so all in not to bad, but I can't see me going back next year.

Mad hatters tea

by Lorraineburns45 on 10 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Fabulous night for friends 40th birthday bash, mad hatter themed room looks so good, quirky and a night to remember. Nothing too much trouble , from cocktails in teapots to dietary requirements, thanks again, Staff are a credit to this hotel especially girl dressed as Alice and the mad hatter.
