The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, abbreviated and better known as, KSRTC is a state-owned public road transport company in the Indian state of Karnataka. What are the concessions given by KSRTC?

  • KSRTC provides a number of concessions for senior citizens, students and other travellers. Some of major benefits are as following:
  • Senior Citizens who are aged 60 years or above are extended with 25% ticket fare concession.
  • This facility is extended in City, Suburban, Ordinary, Express, Semi Luxury and Rajahamsa buses of KSRTC including interstate operations also.
  • To avail this concession facility, Senior Citizens need to produce the age proof documents. They can also show the IDs loaded through Digilocker app viz Aadhar card, Driving License. the ID should contain place of residence in Karnataka only.

Q. Is there an age limit for a half ticket passenger under the KSRTC?

A: Children between the ages of 6 and 12 can avail KSRTC bus tickets at 50% of the usual adult fare.

Q. Do you need to keep printouts of e-tickets while boarding KSRTC buses?

A: Passengers are required to print their tickets on plain A4-sized paper and show them at the time of journey. Alternatively, you can show an electronic copy (booking SMS or ticket image) on your mobile phone or laptop. A valid photo ID must be presented with your ticket.

Q. After making a booking with KSRTC, can I change my bus ticket details?

A: You can only modify the boarding point for your journey after a KSRTC bus ticket has been booked. This is allowed for tickets booked at KSRTC and franchisee counters, and only under two conditions: if the trip sheet for your journey is yet to be generated, or if you’re making the modification two hours before departure. Whichever happens earlier will apply. A transaction fee of Rs 10 is charged for tickets modified through KSRTC or franchisee counters.

Q. I lost my KSRTC bus ticket! How can I get another copy?

A: Yes, you definitely can! Registered users on ksrtc.in can access their e-ticket by logging onto the ‘My itineraries – Active trips’ module on the official website. Punch in your user ID, and get a new copy!

Q. What identity proof documents must be carried to travel on a KSRTC bus?

A: KSRTC buses accept the following photo identity cards for you to complete boarding:

A: The KSRTC has not indicated on its official website that its bus e-tickets are transferable. Since a photo identity card is used to match the passenger’s booking during boarding, it can be assumed that the bus tickets cannot be transferred to another person.
