Outside the mainstream

by TeresaGeorgieva on 16 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

The place appears to be a bit eccentric at first, but when you submerge into the premises you will definitely puzzle it out. The walls in the hallways are sketched with abstract depictions, which creates the overall atmosphere of the hostel. The rooms are well-organized, but don't expect opulence. However, the people you encounter there makes the place that special.

I'd rather sleep under a bridge

1. Difficult to find the entrance 2. Everything was filthy, untidy 3. It was very very cold and our radiator didn't work 4. Spiders in the kitchen 5. Flood in the toilet 6. Mould on the walls 7. Sheeds and duvets weren't changed for incoming guests 8. You need to pay for the luggage store (1.50 per day)

Full of character and friendly - great value for money

by Ade B on 23 Oct 2016 (Solo Traveller)

I've been 'hostel hopping' for some time and it hasn't been easy to find a homely, cheap, friendly hostel as there used to be many in London. Central Hostel retains that character which seems to be disappearing: the staff are nice and friendly, the walls are all painted with beautiful graffiti, some relating to London, some keeping alive that alternative culture we all love. Cheapest I've had in London, great location

by LaAzuleta on 17 Oct 2016 (Friends Traveller)

First of all the good: The hostel is in a great location. Five minutes on foot from both the District and Central line, two supermarkets and several restaurants and pubs. Add that to the very good prize and the fact that there is actually a kitchen, so it's perfect for anyone on a budget. Some minor negative points: There aren't enough bathrooms, so be prepared to queue. The kitchen is rather small, so only about 3 or 4 people are able to be in there at the same time. Security is also not a hug...

Never ever stay here!!! 0 out of 10

by Chelsea G on 12 Sep 2016 (Friends Traveller)

I have traveled a fair bit and this hostel is by far the worst I have ever stayed in. The staff are beyond rude, not helpful and seem like they don't want to be there. The rooms and bathrooms are dirty, my whole room of people got sick. When I gave the staff 24 hours notice of leaving 1 night earlier as my travel plans changed they refused to give my money back, even though it states that you need to give 24 hours notice for a refund. They offered me a credit night. I advise don't stay here,...
