When in Kochi

Many people come to Ernakulam to look for a beach experience. This can be done only after a 45 minutes drive to the north-west region of Ernakulum at the Cherai Beach. It’s a long stretch, so it is difficult to avoid the line of snacks shops and a package tour mood. But once you walk far ahead, it's not too arduous to find a more isolated spot. Swimming here is not recommended as the water is rough, especially during the monsoons. There are a handful of resorts here, but it is not recommended to stay near the beach. The service is far better in the city. Cherai makes for a good half-day excursion with a picnic basket and plenty of sunscreen.

We went to the Cherai Beach on the evening during the college tour. The climate was good and it was drizzling when we reached the beach. The clouds was and the blue sky makes us to snap the photos and good place for the enjoyement. The water ws clean and we enjoyed as a group and loads of fun. A nice beach to visit for enjoyment.

Nice to observe sunset but be prepared to share with hundreds of beachgoers who fill every corner of the beach - do not expect any romantic gateway

Good beach

Cherai is a short 20 minutes drive from Kochi. If you are staying in Fort Kochi, you can take a boat to Vypeen jetty, from where you take the road along the sea for 11km until you reach Cherai beach. If you intend to stay near the beach, there are some homestays and budget accomodation spread near the beach, but i did not see any upmarket hotels or resort close by. The sea here is deep and you can go too far into the water. The beach is very narrow and quickly gives way to the road built close to the beach.

I am a regular visitor of this beach. As it is in a village area, there is a little traffic out there. Really a calm and quiet beach. Me and my family would always love to go there and spent evenings. The awesome sunset view and absolute clean beach will attract everyone. Without any doubt we can say that it's one of the best beaches in kerala.

Relaxed Ambience

When in Kochi (queen of the Arabian sea) one should never miss this place. There are many factors that differentiate the beach from the other beaches of Kerala. First thing is the safety precautions done by the security staffs. The trees and the greenery on the walkway to the beach add to the serene atmosphere there. Cleanliness is another important thing of this place. A Good place to spend your evening, enjoying the sunset, watching the sea, enjoying the people and relax. The place is a bit over crowded at times. i enjoyed every moment spent here with my friends. I will surely suggest anyone to visit one of the famous beach in Kerala. Thank you :)
