Try the Shanties
30 Oct 2014
With fresh catch close at hand at the Chinese fishing nets, many travellers wonder where they can have their own spoils cooked in a way that they like. The search is not too difficult. You can take fresh catch to the shanties, near the Chinese fishing nets at the edge of the Princess Street. The place is rough around the edges, but the food is cheap and the service quick. A number small makeshift restaurants line the street with a no-frills ambience. Plastic chairs are snugly fit to make space for more tables, which you might have to share with an already well-fed neighbourhood cat.

Kochi breathes history, right from the many bylanes of Fort Kochi to the centuries old Chinese fishing nets. With more than 25 famous churches, lots of cafes, art houses, homestays and more, Kochi is one of the hippest destinations in Kerala. Fort Kochi is a must visit, for its back lanes are steeped in history. A perfect getaway for anyone interested in architecture, history, food, art or shopping of the very famous Kerala silk.

Fort Kochi over Ernakulam
07 Oct 2014
If you're having a tough time choosing between Fort Kochi and Ernakulam, head off to Fort Kochi. This is where you'll find the real Kochi, including the much famous Chinese fishing nets! Almost all the lanes in Fort Kochi are dotted with artsy lanes, curio shops and shacks selling street food. For a faster journey between Fort Kochi and Ernakulam, hop on to the local ferry as traffic snarls are quite frequent in the city!

kochi a city in water
28 Jun 2014
kochi is the business capital of kerala in india, the city is situated inside the arabian sea and only two ways to get inside the city one is by water transport or through airways. there are a lot of boats and cruise ships available to visit the city. the kochi port serves as the business opening of the state towards the world trade. the city has many sea food recipes that are famous all over south india. in kochi the humidity is high which makes us to get dehydrated quite quickly if you are new to the place so be sure to take a lot of fluids while you are at the place.

If you are looking for a hideout away from home then kochi is the best place to visit. The sea shore is a the home to the most attractive tourist destination fort kochi. The backwaters and palm trees give you the most soothing sensation. it is a place where most ayurvedic massage and treatment centres are located and it helps relax and get rid of stress. It is also a home to many resorts which provide you home like treatment and help you to have the best time while you are in kochi. It may fall into place without any issues for you to pass Kochi (or Cochin), as the Kerala Capital. No big surprise, for this exquisite sunny shore town is the most excellent Kerala-cosmopolitan, as well as with its overflowing coastline, captivating backwaters, ayurvedic wellbeing focuses, holy places and synagogues - legitimately situated amongst National Geographic's 50 top visitor objectives. Watch Kathakali execution, relish its fish, burrow at the classic rarities, take a stab at angling with the Chinese angling nets or go to a conventional wedding service. Kochi is one spot you will quickly fall in "like" with! Kochi was the most loved ocean side entrance into India from the Arabian Sea for the Arabs, Chinese, European ocean shippers lastly the Portuguese under Vasco da Gama in 1500, and the Franciscan monks. Furthermore what had been a curious angling village turned into India's first European settlement. In 1663, Cochin tumbled to the Dutch, and after that to the British in 1795. Each of these outside impacts left their impressions, bringing about a notably Indo-European society, most obvious in the construction modeling and lifestyle of Kochinites. Stronghold Cochin - A calm point of interest to this port-city, the Fort Cochin, embodying Mattancherry and Jew Town (that has a first century AD Jewish group), is a cut of sepia-tinted world, where regardless they talk 14 separate dialects and tumbled-down manors line restricted paths. Close to the water's edge, old warehouses (or godowns) are loaded with the state's loved money crops - pepper, tea, Ayurvedic herbs, entire ginger, and betel nuts - being dried, sorted, and ready for immediate deal or closeout. Stroll around at recreation and chances are you will run across something (doodad/ building design) fitting in with a world you never thought existed.

Kochi is one of the finest place in Kerala.I visited kochi in the year 2010.I have been to wonderla kochi so many times.Apart from the rides what was impressed me was the cleanliness.Rides and water parks were very good.Food was usual stuff. It is a better idea to go in the reverse order -go water first and go to the rides by early afternoon, crowd usually follow the other way,it will be a great trip for you guys, you go with your life partner.
