about corcovado

The Corcovado mountain, is often confused with the Sugarloaf Mountains which lie close by. The mountain is a beautiful granite rock formation which almost rises above from the Tijuca forest to form a hunch at its peak. At this juncture, begins the pedestal of the Cristo Redentor. Both the peak and valley can be accessed by the Corcovado Rack Railway which use electrically powered trains, which reach you straight to the observation deck of the Redeemer. A generally vertical rock formation, this is one of a kind and is said to be the highest of its kind in Brazil, therefore it is a symbol of Brazil’s geographical significance as well. The cloud cover atop the Corcovado mountain is to watch out for.
