Infested with biting, visible, insects.

by Travellingnurse79 on 26 Apr 2016 (Friends Traveller)

After 2 hours sleep I was woken by visible insects biting me. I had several on my foot, causing it to swell. Two large ones on my back and another on my thigh. Not mosquito bites. I found several small insects in my bed. The staff asked us to move rooms. We did. We shook the sheets before trying to sleep. Within an hour I was bitten again. Found several more insects in my new bed and in my friends. The insects must have been in the wooden bed frames. Had to sleep on the sofa and got no sleep. Tr...

Ok hostel

by Loulou96 on 22 Oct 2015 (Couple Traveller)

Not the best hostel, but there is not much choice in Recife. Rooms did not look as good as the pictures made them look. Room and common areas were swarming with mossies. Just to note this hostel is a good location for the airport but the bus station is nearly an hour out of the city. Also it is worth noting that you can't go in the sea in Recife due to sharks. Good location for a day trip to Olinda, would suggeste staying in Porto Galinhas instead at Che Lagarto.

Perfect days in Cosmopolitan Hostel

by Maui G on 02 Sep 2015 (Solo Traveller)

Cosmopolitan hostel was the best choice I could make! Close to the beach and to lots of buses that bring you everywhere. Breakfast was perfect, rooms and public space always clean and I fell in love with the nice small garden and the two sweet rabbits that ran around it all the time. But what I especially liked were the nice people working there, receptionists and cleaning ladies and also the owner, all really friendly and helpful. Thanks so much, if I ever go back to Recife I'm sure to stay in ...

Was worried about staying here but so glad I did.

by RICKHYYZ on 30 Aug 2015 (Solo Traveller)

I stayed at the Cosmpolitan Hostel in March and I am so glad I did! I had my own room which was basic but more then sufficient. The staff were very friendly and had all my tours booked within 30 minues of my arrival. I was quite concerned about the area prior to my arrival however it turned out to be a very upscale area which was wonderful however dinners could be expensive if you eat out. They also had a security guard at the end of the street. I had considered staying in Olinda but after m...

Bad night's sleep

by never_st0p_m0ving on 31 Mar 2015 (Friends Traveller)

We picked this place based on the Lonely Planet's recommendation but I'm afraid it didn't live up to the hype. The staff were fine but not what I would call welcoming (surely you need to be more so in the low season?!), the breakfast was plentiful but didn't taste great and I'm afraid I barely slept because of one main problem- it was the narrowest bed I have ever slept in!! And, no, it is not that I am wide! Really bad night's sleep so we only stayed one night
