Stay only if you know Chinese###

by Sumant009 on 08 Jul 2015 (Friends Traveller)

Stayed there for a few nights, stay here only if you know Chinese language otherwise it will be terrible for you. Rooms and hotel is good but staff is pathetic. They don't know English and are not willing to help you. Analyze before staying here.

Good beginning, but final rip-ff!

by David_M_Brock on 27 Sep 2014 (Business Traveller)

Overall the place was good. The room was spacious, good facilities, good location. But the experience was ruined by the following customer service issue: When I checked in I asked for a late checkout, and was told that I would be charged 1.5 times the room rate for checking out by 7pm; and I agreed. I rushed back from my engagement, cleared out of my room, and got to the reception about 7:10pm. After a few minutes of admin work, I was presented with a bill for 2x the room rate! Unexpected service, reasonably priced

by Meryl M on 10 Apr 2014 (Business Traveller)

As a frequent business traveller on her first trip to Shanghai I let my client choose the hotel. I was wary at first but soon I was happily surprised by the cleanliness of the property, the super efficiency of staff and the adjacent conference facility. One example. After 2 days the room safe with my cell phone, IPad and jewelry would not open. Using my phrase book, I communicated the problem to the front desk. Within minutes, a manager and handyman appeared and the problem was immediately resol...

Worthy hotel, excellent service

by Eryador on 19 May 2012 (Business Traveller)

This hotel in located in the quite center of Hongqiao, Shanghai. Indeed, it might not be the usual 5 star hotel, but its clean, aired, and cosy rooms come over everything else. Notes: Gastronomically economic - The rooms are equipped with a working minibar fridge, an electric kettle, and bags of tea. c'est tout. comfortable beds, 2 pillow kinds, a sofa, a desk, a free internet, a 32" lcd, and many lights options. I like it!

Potentially a good hotel - let down by cost cutting and staff

by PatientAussie on 29 Nov 2011 (Business Traveller)

This hotel is ideally situated near both terminals of Hongqiao Airport. There are good restaurants a short taxi ride away (15RMB). It is set in a beautiful and quiet garden setting but is let down by things that don't work and unintelligent excuses. No AC during an unseasonal warm spell, although all of the PR material says "individually controllable temperature setting for AC in rooms" This is patently incorrect. I was informed that in "winter" (25 degrees C outside and near 30 in the room), th...
