Back in time

by Yvonne0909 on 01 Nov 2016 (Friends Traveller)

It's definitely not a palace. The place is dated. The rooms and bathroom are decent size. Breakfast is good and so is dinner. Busstop across the road, Shopping mall at walking distance. Good enough to visit the falls

Back to basics

One will not boast his stay on this place to friends in Facebook. As well noted in one of the other reviews, the place is dated and the restaurants resemble hotels from the communist 70's.Leisure facilities are lousy, the tennis table and billiard table are precarious and are placed on a very uncomfortable room. We did not dare to use the heated pool and the weather conditions did not allow us to try the external pool ( I would probably not come close either). Now, one should keep in mind that t...

Do not stay here unless you are on a shoestring budget and have no other options...

by Scottb83 on 05 Apr 2015 (Couple Traveller)

I am struggling to know where to start with this review. My fiancé booked the Dom Pedro Palace before we set off from the UK and then panicked and asked me to check it again when we were in Peru as the TA reviews were not very reassuring.  I obliged and thought it looks budget and with no frills but it seems to be clean and in any case is only a base to visit the falls for a few days - how bad could it be. Well when we arrived the realisation very quickly set in that this was a massive mistake. ...

Definitely not a palace by any definition

by S D on 16 Jan 2015 (Family Traveller)

This is more of a budget family accommodation but not a palace. The rooms are small and dated. Our extra bed has a broken leg which made sleeping for our son a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant provides breakfast with limited options. Dinner is a set menu at 40 Reais but the taxi drivers in Foz will drive you to any restaurant in Foz for free as they get a free meal for bringing guests to restaurants. Hotel does not provided free wifi but cheap wifi is sold at 3 reals per day per device, however...

Good location for Iguazu Falls.

by Spatchski on 28 Dec 2014 (Solo Traveller)

Rooms were renovated for the World Cup. Simple but comfortable. The rest of the hotel pretty dated, especially restaurant which felt like Eastern Europe in 70's. No lift so ask for help to get your luggage up to your room. WIFI disappointing but this is the case in pretty much all hotels in Brazil. Breakfast was ok but nothing wow. Low to mid range hotel which is ok for the price and location.
