I am assuming you are asking about the cuisine in Kalpakkam. Following that line of thought, here's a brief description about the food habits prevalent in this area.

Since Kalpakkam lies on the Coromandel coast, the cuisine is primarily Tamil with a coastal influence. Rice is the staple food in the region and this cuisine also uses a lot of lentils. The Tamil cuisine has its very own distinct aroma created from the blending of various spice mixtures and flavouring agents. Eg. Curry leaves, mustard seeds, coriander, cumin, cardamom, ginger, garlic, nutmeg, pepper and coconut are liberally used.

Idiyappam (String hoppers), Utthapam, Sambar, Rasam, Kootu (a kind of mized vegetable), Puliodarai (Tamarind rice), Poriyal (fried vegetable dish), Thayir Sadam (Curd rice) are some of the vegetarian fares. In non-vegetarian dishes, a variety chicken, mutton and fish preparations exists, which are cooked using specific spice mixes. No meal is complete without Papadam, Buttermilk and Pickle. If you go for a Tamil thali meal, you might be served on a banana leaf. As per the locals, eating on a banana leaf brings a whole new flavour to the food.
