Ancient Kerala.

There still remains some ancient remaining in some parts of Kerala. Most famous among such is Edakkal caves in Wayanad. This is among the most visited place in Kerala. This is situated on a hill top, the way to reach this cave is only by climbing the hill. To reach the top we have to walk about 30 minutes to the top. A way is been made in order to make this easy. Both locals and foreigners visits this place. Inside the cave is well protected by means of glass frames and metal blocks. There are guides available for explaining the caves and its history , importance etc. When we reach the top we can see the city. Also the cold wind blowing will be a new felling for all.

*This breathtaking location is 25 KMs from Kalpetta. *It's not a cave actually;but a fissure formed in the rock. *The rocks have some pre-historic carvings. *The view at top just mind-blowing !!! * Good trekking experience-----a long climb indeed !!!!!! *One of the must visit places at Wayanad.

The Thrilling Adventure
18 Jun 2014
During Our college tour, we went to Edakkal caves. The fascinating prehistoric rock etchings found on the walls of these caves have drawn the serious attention of archeologists and historians worldwide. With at least three distinct sets of petroglyphs, the earliest thought to date back over 5000 years, it is assumed that the Edakkal caves had been inhabited at various stages in history. The place is rich with pictures marked with metal tools and ancient languages written in Sanskrit and Tamil. The Perfect place for the trekking and adventure experience.
