An authentic experience
by Rainer_Keerdo on 10 Oct 2013 (Family Traveller)
Visited in August 2012, but TripAdvisor did not let me put it there. We first searched for the hotel for a good 20 minutes. After having found it though, we realized it was worth the effort. The host was very friendly and spoke fluent English. He gave us a map and sat down with us, marking out all the important places and answering the questions we had. The room was small but clean, though it was hard for me to get used to the bed as my feet dangled over the edge. The local area was lively and w...

We stayed here last September and overall, the best thing about this small B&B courtyard inn is the owner/manager who is super friendly, kind and helpful. The 2nd thing is probably the location although we did not make full use of it as we only stayed for one nite. The small double room we had (which I hope is fixed by now) had a leak in one of the walls by the bed and so it stained walls and a musty smell, Additonally, the bathroom window had a gap even when fully close. the bathroom had a o...
A real experience of Beijing
by Wendy D on 26 Apr 2013 (Family Traveller)
Enjoyed our 6 night stay with family in 3 of the 5 rooms-very relaxed and an intimate experience of Hutong living. The rooms were basic but clean and beds were comfy with own bathrooms. The location was excellent-2 min walk from Metro and next to police station-we felt so safe! Highlight was the was yummy breakfast and noodle stalls close by and we enjoyed sampling the wide range of dumplings, buns, Chinese porridge, pancakes on offer as ordered each morning and delivered by the helpful manage...
Great location, lovely staff but not very clean
by Jasmine S on 22 Apr 2013 (Couple Traveller)
We really enjoyed the fact that we were staying in a quirky courtyard hotel in a Hutong. The location was ideal, close to the Metro and to the Forbidden City etc. Yang, the owner was really very attentive and helpful and always available to assist us. There were a table and chairs in the courtyard and it was nice to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Our room was small and cute, we liked the authentic Chinese décor. The WiFi was very good and the room was equipped with working AC and everything we ...
Great Hutong Place
by nomadtrek on 11 Jan 2013 (Family Traveller)
We stayed here for 4 nights in February, 2012. Rooms are small but cozy. Young, the manager, was helpful and very accomodating. He took us around the block to a great place for steamed dumplings, arranged for a taxi to the airport at 5 am and arranged tours to the Great Wall and to an acrobatic show. The acrobatic show ended up being a tourist trap. If you have seen Cirque du Soleil I would skip the acrobatic show since it looks amaturish in comparison. The train station is a couple of blocks aw...
