about essential sights to see

There are some essential sights to see in Madrid which must not be left unexplored. The first is the majestic Plaza Mayor, which dates back to 1619 CE. Earlier it lay outside the city’s bounds and was used to host bullfights. The three sides of this rectangular cobblestone plaza are bordered by block-long rows of three-story apartments completed in the late 18th CE. The structures are decorated with frescoes, have balconies framed with wrought-iron railings and topped with elegant slate spires. In the middle of the plaza there is a statue of Philip III on horseback, which is a major attraction. Facing the plaza is the famous Casa de la Panadería that has a tourist information center. Royal Palace, Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá are some other places you must visit.
