about farrukh nagar fort

Built by local Nawab Faujdar Khan in the year 1732, Farrukh Nagar Fort is an octagonal shaped town. Sheesh Mahal, Baoli and Jama Masjid are the major attractions here. The fort has an impressive bastion, with a typical Mughal architecture. It was one of the entrance gates to the Farukh Nagar town. Today it is mostly in ruins, though recently it underwent restoration in 2009, a project taken up by INTACH. It was estimated that more than 4000 people called this fort their home. It is also referred to as the Dilli Darwaza.
