Dutch design firm Studio Roosegarde and infrastructure management group Heijmans have revolutionized the way you are going to see highways forever! Take a look at the concept video here.



As you can see, the regular highway markings on these routes are replaced by markings rich in photoluminecent powder that charges throughout the day and glows in the night. The concept stages depict how the roads will automatically light up with snowflake indicators as soon as the temperature dips below freezing point, to warn the drivers and prevent accidents due to slippery surfaces.


This design is implemented as a tester on a 500m stretch on Netherland's Highway section of N329 near Oss. If this was to come to India, where would you want it to be?
