A wonderful hotel with a few hiccups

by Jennifer P on 20 Sep 2016 (Family Traveller)

I stayed here for two weeks on vacation so I got to know the place pretty well. First, the staff is outstanding, really fantastic. The majority of the staff do not speak English, but the managers and the concierge do. When I needed something and no English speaking person was available they were quick to either go get someone, or call someone on their cell phone. Jeff, Jimmy and Victor are all what make the Grand Concordia grand; they went above and beyond daily to help us with anything we n...

Great value for money if not for the muddy water

by hongkongtourist on 13 Aug 2016

Well organised and clean. I stayed at the Marriott just across the road for two nights and thought I would change hotel to mark the end of a work trip. Great value for money and I even got upgraded to the top floor....but I let the water to run for 3 mins and the water was still brown, very brown. The sink wasn't draining well and can be a potential fall hazard. I had to brush with bottled water and refrain from singing in the shower... Otherwise all is good.

Better than expected

by Maogao on 02 Jul 2016

I had read that some people thought that the Grand Concordia was getting a little "worn," so I was a little surprised to find that it is a beautiful hotel with a very good, reasonably priced restaurant. The only drawback is that there were not many staff who could speak English and I don't speak Mandarin. We were there for one night, so we didn't get a chance to explore the neighborhood, but it looked like there were some nice comes in the area. The hotel is also close to the embassy district...

Nice Hotel

by Darryl W on 09 Jun 2016 (Business Traveller)

Stayed for 3 nights.Although the hotel was comfortable it is very dated. Would have been very grand and royal in its heyday but in the year 2016 it just isn't right. Very Chinese hotel with fake marble everywhere. We had to change rooms after the first night as the shower leaked everywhere it actually nearly flooded the room, we had to throw all the towles on the floor to soak up the water. The breakfast buffet is good, although the bacon, sausages and fried eggs were cold on both mornings. T...

Old School in every sense

by DJXuan on 15 Apr 2016 (Business Traveller)

I stayed here for an entire week on business so I feel like I can say something about this hotel. You can see that the hotel in its heyday was a very upscale place. The furnishings are of good quality, solid wood furniture, marble bathrooms, a magnificent entrance... but since those days, it has accumulated layers of detail that don't quite match up to the original grandiosity. Take for example the signs in the rooms and on every floor, with different fonts and misspellings, the breakfast buffet...
