Room & WiFi substandard

by brians101 on 30 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

This an old retrofitted hotel. In general for price & location and ok only choice. Unless you are on your own, about the size of an ant, and similar sized luggage, the room we had was less than fair. Other rooms may be better, so a tips avoid room 609. WiFi only permits one device at a time and is sometimes difficult when it comes to switching. Slow too. Think in this day and age that is not a fair shake of the dice. Needs bringing into 21st century. Aside from those issues, the place is pres...

Love this quaint 3* small hotel construted around a small open terrace, upper floors have a mezzanine

by ginijeanne on 22 Jul 2016 (Friends Traveller)

Second time I've stayed here, this time free breakfast buffet included, huge bed, A/C, free WiFi, restaurant/bar on-site, well-equipped, HD TV, separate in-room bathroom w/ all kinds of "goodies", from soaps/gels to coffee/tea-maker (incl. tea bags & instant coffees), impeccably clean, love those white sheets and extra pillows! Check out various internet sites for the best price - my base price was under 57 Euros/night. It's 1/2 block from the train & bus stations & a Metro stop. The staff ar...

Pros and cons with this hotel

by Dershapo on 28 Jun 2016 (Couple Traveller)

We stayed at Grand Hotel d'Orleans for 1 night as part of cycle tour organised by Rando Velo. We felt there were pros and cons about it: Location - good location near to the station and canal, but street amenity and atmosphere around here is not very inviting, and not assisted by the fact that most of the street was being dug up with machinery at the time (not the hotel's fault at all!). Hotel reception area is in need of a refresh - quite worn out and faded. However, the reception staff were mo...

Good--and a lot better than it initially seemed!

by Ihatescreennames88 on 29 May 2016 (Couple Traveller)

The hotel is very, very close to the Train Station, which is great, as this is also on the Canal and only a couple of blocks from everything else. The neighbourhood is a little sketchy at night, and it was amusing to see, as we schlepped our heavy bags in the dark, that the neon was burnt out so that the sign read "Grd Hot leans". That first night, we had a room RIGHT NEXT to the neon sign, which was, well, pretty weird. We went trekking, then stayed here for two more nights afterward in a dif...

Nice hotel

by Glloq on 24 May 2016 (Business Traveller)

I stayed here one night on business. Although the exterior looks rather shabby, the hotel has recently gone through a refurbishment of all the rooms. Everything is clean and works and the bed is comfortable, with the right level of firmness. Breakfast was average, with no hot food. Viennoiseries were small and unremarkable. WiFi was decent and stable but on the slow side.
