Firstly, for travelling to Arunachal Pradesh, all tourists require an ILP (Inner Line Permit), which can be acquired from Arunachal Pradesh Houses situated in Kolkata, New Delhi and Guwahati. You will need to get a permit for each of the sectors you intend to visit and here is their break up:

1. Sector 1: Bomdila, Dirang, Tawang
2. Sector 2: Itanagar, Ziro
3. Sector 3: Namdapha, Changlang

For reaching Itanagar, you will have to either take a train or plane to Guwahati, from where the former is a seven hour car ride away. You can find modes to travel from your city to Guwahati by just typing in 'City name to Guwahati' in the search box above. Now that the logistics are clear, lets start planning your holiday!

There are plenty of options for ten days when it comes to Arunachal Pradesh. A few are somewhat popular, but most of them are offbeat routes. The following are a few examples for what you could do in ten days:

1. Guwahati - Tawang - Guwahati

This route will take you to the high mountains of eastern Himalayas. The drive is extremely scenic and you get an opportunity to visit a very important Buddhist settlement of the world.

2. Dibrugarh - Ziro - Daporijo - Along - Pasighat - Dibrugarh

This route will take you to the interiors of Arunachal Pradesh to the tribal territories. The journey throughout is extremely scenic and remote. It is quite an experience to learn about the tribes of the region. They are delightful and their culture is way different from mainland India. You will also get to sail in the Brahmaputra in this route. Greener Pastures, an ecotourism outfit provides a similar tour called the central Arunachal Pradesh tour of tribes.

3. Dibrugarh - Namdapha National Park - Dibrugarh

This is for the adventure enthusiasts and the wildlife lovers. The park offers an opportunity to spot some exotic wildlife and trek in India's largest national park in terrain that consists of rainforest. It is the only rainforest adventure that is available in entire India.

4. Dibrugarh - Kibithu - Dibrugarh

This scenic route consists of driving till the eastern most edge of India, to an army settlement known as Kibithu, near which are the mountains of South Tibet. It is an offbeat adventure where the drive is extremely scenic. You will also visit orange farms and meet tribal people from the charming Mishmi Tribe.

NOTE: There are few other treks which happen around Tawang and eastern Arunachal Pradesh area. Mostly, these adventures are best arranged via a tour operator of the region.
