about harsiddhi temple

Harsiddhi Temple is where, according to legend, Sati’s elbow fell when Shiva carried away her dead body. The idol of Annapurna, the presiding deity, is painted in a dark vermillion colour. The temple was reconstructed during the Maratha rule. Its pillars adorned with lamps, dating to this period and lit during Navaratri, present a glorious spectacle. There is an old baori (pond) in the northern corner of the temple.
