Very well priced and good location

by cuccir on 16 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

A good value budget hotel, with clean and simple but pleasant rooms. The location is trendy, with the lively 'West End/Byres Road' attractions all within a 10 minute walk, and Kelvingrove Park also nearby. Free parking (though limited to ~6 cars and not bookable) was great for a relatively central location, and the city center is walkable for many (20-40 mins depending on where you're going) or a short journey from Hillhead Subway station (5 mins away). The bed was fine for the price range thou...

Good place

by Athol I on 10 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Well the good things first. Rooms really nice and clean Beds are well comfy Breakfast was good Day shift front desk was brill and very chatty Big tv in room Tea and coffee in rooms Bad things You can't get a car to door, not so good if you have lots of luggage, No lifts to upper floors, again a pain when lots of luggage. But in short this place is well well worth the money, the breakfast alone would set you back £15 in any place as you get a lot. Will defo come back and stay again

Very reasonably priced hotel with all amenities, but a bit away from town centre

by ankyuk on 02 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

The only negative, so to say, is that the hotel is a bit away from the city centre, though located right opposite a bus stop, and not far from a metro station. The neighbourhood of the hotel is a bit of a sketchy, quiet road with several palatial-looking buildings, mostly old hotels like this one. Now to the many positives. Rooms are big, with good warming, pleasant shower and toilet area, and some free coffee, tea and milk in your room. TV resolution is good, and TV has quite a few channels. Th...

First visit

by ScottBaillie on 29 Dec 2016

A good clean budget hotel. We were impressed by the cleanliness of our room, probably one of the cleanest we have stayed in. Ideal location for the West End shops and bars. Booked up again for April for an event at the Hydro, would and have recommended to anyone.

Lovely staff, below average hotel

by Erin P on 29 Dec 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Lovely, welcoming, approachable staff but the whole hotel needs updated. Quite dated décor. Rooms were quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. TV was good quality and have plenty of channels to choose from. Overall, the rooms were spotless, couldn't fault cleanliness. However, breakfast was awful, a choice of continental- tinned fruit and cheap yogurt- or full cooked- greasy, really poor quality food that tasted awful, I couldn't finish the plate. The whole breakfast room was stinking of ...
