Excellent location for a no-frills place

by Jonathan A on 07 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

The private double rooms were modern, well-appointed and very clean. No noise from the street, as the hostel itself is just a touch off Gran Via. The location was excellent - it's a great base to explore Madrid, and central enough to pop back at any point during the day to rest, drop off shopping, suit up for a night out, etc. The front signage might be easy to miss at night - look out carefully for it!

Better of some where else

by Hasweden on 22 Dec 2016 (Family Traveller)

Read about this place before I booked and reviews where mixed. I should have "listened" to the bad reviews. The area is not a very good area first of all. Did not know that until a friend who lives in Madrid told me. The hostel is horrible. Small, dirty rooms. They've tried to paint over mold in the ceiling, cupboards in the shower room are broken and so on. There are so many better hostels at the same price.

Close to everything

by Rumbizai T on 11 Sep 2016 (Family Traveller)

Stayedhere for 2 nights and it is a good place to stay while on the runand is close to everything! Metro is a few blocks away, bar and restaurant opposite the place. Helpful staff and the place is very very clean and neat. They offer breakfast as well.. We had our own shower in the room but the toilets are shared. Not too big a room..hence it's good if you need a place to sleep and get on with other things during the day.

Ticks all the boxes - almost!

Now I'm in my sixties - a woman travelling around the world alone, so what I like is to meet interesting people - and nice people, so staying in flash hotels is boring, fawning, and isolating. Hostels are where you share other people's travels. But I hate dirty places, and I hate rude staff. Woohoo was cleaner than most hotels, and the staff were lovely - and relaxed - not a rule in sight! Bloody hot in the bedroom but the people were nice and the breakfast good. And think of the money I sa...

welcome to a Hobbit's home with a great location

by krinste on 12 Jul 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Can a hostel room be too clean? Ironically, yes. Our bedroom smelled so much like cleaning detergent from the ensuite bathroom that it irritated my throat. Airing out the room for at least half an hour was necessary. The bathroom contained a small shower and an even smaller sink. Washing my face wasn't possible without splashing water over the floor. Two of the three shared toilets in the hall were too small to sit on because the stalls' doors press against one's knees. I literally had to use th...
