Not Brilliant

by kathymp2015 on 23 Nov 2016 (Friends Traveller)

I stayed at the Hotel Agdal last month for one night one week, then two nights the second week. The second week was while the Climate Change Conference was on, and the prices were twice the price of the first week. It's not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, possibly it's the second worst. Staff were fine, my room was much better the second week than in the first week but the food in the restaurant was very poor and there was no choice. You didn't like it, hard luck. I was disappointe...

This hotel is a nightmare. I was supposed to stay there for 4 nights during the COP22 event and had the hotel booked by my company, but I didn't make it to the second night. The hotel was charging double the usual rates due to the hot period. This venue is simply the same since it opened probably 40 years ago, nothing was renovated or even properly maintained. Even cleanliness is questionable, the hallways dark, the breakfast... a joke!

Don't trust the bad reviews

by Stef B on 15 Dec 2015 (Family Traveller)

I stayed at this hotel several times, and I have never left a review, now seeing what some wrote, I feel it is only fair I should write one to do them justice! First of all, this is a 3-star hotel (and we are in Morocco, not in London), however the price you pay here, would buy you a bed in a cheap and dodgy hostel in our countries. But instead, this hotels is located in the heart of Gueliz, the "new town" in Marrakech: a lovely area full of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and very well connect...

We were meant to stay here for a week..we lasted one day. It was dark, dingy and not very welcoming at all. Room was basic but bed was so uncomfortable we had no sleep at all. There was no look on patio door and a dripping air conditioning unit above patio. The noise from the street was so loud because patio door wasn't properly closing. Breakfast was basic and tasteless. Staff just glared at us, no 'good morning' or manners. Pool was cloudy and dirty, the pool area was unkempt with broken seats...

Very worthwhile trip

Review Marrakech Hotel Agdal 17th-20th Feb 2014 (sorry for late review) We stayed here in Feb, was a bit wary of the reviews but nevertheless main reason I booked this one over the others that were offered was it mentioned distance to Jama El Fanaa was 20 minutes walk. This certainly was not the case. Although the main road leads all the way there the first evening we arrived we walked there as were not sure of buses etc , 45 minutes it took!.(had reception mentioned the bus around the corn...
