This 3 star hotel could very easily be uprated to 4 star. The hotel is very attractive from outside - see the website photo. The swimming pool is an excellent feature. The restaurant is spacious and well laid out. The first thing I would recommend is to get rid of the barkeeper who regards hotel guests as a nuisance who keep him back from playing games (or whatever) on the mobile phone which is always in his hand, an example of which was: my wife asked for two beers to take up to the room. Some people are not born to be hoteliers as they have no skills or welcoming disposition. Hence the 'gentle' man at the front desk who checked us into this establishment. It is very isolated with minimal facilities. Smoke smelling corridors decorated with crucifix, damp beds, windows which didn't open properly no fan and no air conditioning. The TV was ancient. The bathroom minimalist. Go elsewhere!

This is a strange hotel. A big investment has been made to provide a very nice swimming pool, and also a new breakfast room. However, the bedrooms appear to have been untouched for many a long year and are very shabby. One electric socket per room; tv from the 70s (and therefore with no English channels); poor wifi and only available close to reception; furniture is basic. This was a disappointing hotel except that we received excellent and support and help from reception to resolve an issu...

Austrian Hostel with an old East European feel

by Steve005 on 22 Oct 2014 (Couple Traveller)

Firstly, as we live in Vienna we do not often stay overnight in this area - except maybe once a year in Mörbisch for the Operetta Festival. So our first shock was just how expensive an overnight in October is. Some hotels in Rust were charging over €150. This hotel is still extraordinarily expensive relative to its quality. As I struggled to fit my car into the tiny car park (due to other guests parking in the middle of two lots) my partner asked for a room. Initially we were given a room with...
