Poor service

by Osni S on 22 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Untrained staff, poor customer service, old room, dirty shower, bad food. This hotel is rated 4.5 stars; however, to be fair it should be rated no more than a 2 stars hotel. The hotel staffs are untrained and they don't know what they are doing. Shower screen looks dirty and old (e.g. soap support falling apart). In addition, towels are old and dirty. Careful when you book online and make sure you have all the receipts at hand because they may say you haven't paid for the accommodation in the...

The advantage is the near distance to the airport!

by frank_zillmann on 08 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Two nights I've spent here. From outside the hotel looks a little bit like a jail. Inside you can see, that the hotel is not new anymore. The rooms are solid and clean. Nothing to complain. Of course you can hear the near airport. The breakfast is good, you can get everything, what you want. The stuff is kind, partially they're speaking english. The buffet in the evening was a sensation for me. Several soups, several dishes, a lot of fruits. The stuff took care about everything here. That I...

Hotel & Restaurant with Excellent Value for money

by Pearl_Yellow_Star on 19 Dec 2016 (Family Traveller)

Pros: The restaurant had very helpful English speaking staff and the food was fresh, delicious and healthy. We were travelling with a group of 9 people, the others stayed at the more expensive venues of George V and the Holiday Inn but complained about the other hotels food being too salty/sweet with poor service. Hotel Matiz Guarulhos was great value for money. Cons: The airport drop off only stops at Terminal 2 and we needed to travel to Terminal 3. Even though it stopped close to the free in...

A hotel for spotters

by TomaszKozakowski on 15 Dec 2016 (Business Traveller)

Matiz hotel at Guarulhos airport of Sao Paulo provides fine accommodation in standard rooms. Service is fine, but the hotel may get crowded if any flight is cancelled as few airlines put there their passengers in case of irregularities. The hotel is popular with plane spotters as its observation deck at the roof offers good view for approaching aircraft. Unfortunately the walls are rather thin, so if you’re unlucky to have noisy neighbors, you will hear every word they say (hopefully it will be ...

Be extra careful with "lost in translation issues"

by Jaime L on 20 Nov 2016 (Business Traveller)

While the hotel is a good option for a "stop and go" at the GRU airport (São Paulo) , the staff denied to speak English or Spanish making it a little difficult to communicate, either over the phone and once at the hotel. Breakfast is good, hotel rooms have seen better times but for a one night of sleep they are just fine.... Be extra careful when programming your shuttle to the airport, the hotel is usually crowded and the shuttle seats are not enough. I programmed my shuttle the night befor...
