Enjoyable journey to the past
by BoTobias2014 on 07 Nov 2016 (Couple Traveller)
This is a very charming establishment close to Ku'dam. Once upon a time it was the home of the Danish expressive silent movie star Asta Nielsen (she left Germany in 1937). I'm sure she launched exiting parties in the former reception area with beautiful windows overlooking the peaceful Fasanenstraße. Now it is transformed to breakfast room and spacious guest rooms with fantastic stucco ceilings. The bed was huge, and comfortable. Beautiful and endearingly quirky

What a find. Booked this because of attractive central location at Ku'dam (easy to reach by bus 109 or X9 from TXL). Turns out to be a time capsule that takes you straight to early 20th c Berlin. Cheapest room was OK for one night

The pension is right in the centre of the former commercial centre of West Berlin close to the Kurfurstendamm. There are good transport links from the area to the other parts of the city.

A friend and I have recently stayed three nights there and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's such an interesting building, in a quiet, gentile area and the staff at the hotel are great. In fact we arrived really late at night 11pm and one of the staff, Michael had come back to the hotel after his shift to give us the kets. Above and beyond the call of duty but it was no problem for him. Charlottenburg, the area it's located, is a wealthy salubrious suburb but quiet and safe to boot. The S...

Very elegant hotel - high ceilings, lovely beds, delicious breakfast - great coffee, smoked salmon/ meats/ cheeses; lovely bircher muesli and a selection of breads... a real find and a bargain. Lots of nice places to eat/ drink nearby too. Really glad we found it.Great location next to 3 tube stops. Lovely quiet road.
