Perfect location and clean and quiet room

by Dani_und_Daniela on 14 Feb 2019 (Couple Traveller)

We wanted to stay close at the Ganges river and chose firstly a gesthouse at one of the ghats. However we fled from it (dirt, dark, small, stinky) and found hotel Temple on Ganges, which is perfectly located at the far end Assi Ghat and still very central but without the noise. One of the best feature was, next to the location its nice sunny rooftop with view over the Ganges and that the rikshaws and taxis can drive directly to the entrance. In all other places on the ghats one had to walk with ...

Last minute booking - ideal location for our stay in Varanasi

by HCStA on 10 Feb 2019 (Couple Traveller)

This hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was always hot water when we needed it and it wasn't too noisy. We had a room with a balcony - really a small seating area outside the room door as we were on the ground floor. There was no view from this 'balcony' and it was next to a small temple in the garden of the hotel. The rooftop terrace was lovely and we spent our evenings there. The staff were also helpful and I would recommend this hotel as good value. It was very close to the...

LOCATION, GREAT STAFF, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION.

by moosaian on 01 Feb 2019

I initially booked a single room, then a friend decided to join me and had to change my reservation. The booking agent told me there would be a cost. I called the hotel directly and spoke to a gentleman who turned out to be the owner. A wonderful generous man. He changed my reservation and booked a marvellous spacious room overlooking the River Ganges. The food was nice and eating on the Terrace made it even more enjoyable. I mentioned location, Hotel Temple on Ganges is at the Assi Ghat and i...

Best and Safe stay.

by eyeyerg on 01 Feb 2019 (Solo Traveller)

The staff is very cooperative and hospitable. Mr.Madanmohan ji is full of knowledge and guides you very well if you want to know anything about Varanasi. Also If you are a female photographer and on a solo trip like me then trust me its a safe place to stay.

Kind and helpful staff - and the most beautiful rooftop terrace

by Connector506850 on 31 Jan 2019 (Solo Traveller)

From the moment when I booked my stay at Hotel Temple on Ganges (4 nights), I knew that I had chosen well. As a woman travelling solo in India, it can be overwhelming at times. But the staff at the hotel reached out to help arrange my trip from the Varanasi train station (a madhouse), and greeted me warmly - taking the time to tell me about key places to visit nearby. My room for the first three nights was clean and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. I unexpectedly had to stay for a fourth nigh...

In a Nutshell

Varanasi, the oldest living city in the world has many a draw, the mian being the spiritual one that brings thousands of devotees to the city and its stepped ghats by the Ganga. It is advisable to stay close to the ghats for an atompsheric stay, where you can see boats glide along the river, loaded with tourists. Add to that the stunning sunrise, the aartis in the evenings and the whole place dotted with ancient temples, and there is nothing more serene. Apart from the devotees, Hindus also throng here for the last rites on Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat. Close by, Sarnath gives opportunity for those interested in Buddhism to have a glimpse of the Gautum Buddh’s rich history here. Many come here to submrge in the bohemnian vibe of easy paced life by the river, losing themsleves to the hypnotic rhythm of the city. The ghats have a number of plush and reasonbley priced options to stay. Temple on Ganges is a vertitable choice for those looking to stay at one corner on the Asi Ghat, a perfect place if you want to stay away from the thick of the activity, yet be close to it.
