Extremely cosy and intimate property run by very warm and friendly people
by PrakashIyer2013 on 20 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)
We stayed at Hotel Vienna during our trip to Venice around the New year. Hotel Vienna is a very well run property in Venezia Mestre or the Mainland of Venice. The family which manages the hotel as well as the various staff members are very warm, friendly and extremely responsive to guest requirements. We came here after having stayed in a standardized chain of hotels and Hotel Vienna was a welcome and refreshing change. I would like to place on record my appreciation of the very warm service ren...
Low Budget - Poor Quality

The one good point about this hotel is that it is located next to Mestre Station. That said, Mestre Station is not in the safest neighborhood. While walking back to the hotel from dinner around 9 at night, I was stopped by the police going down the tunnel from Mestre - Marghera. When they realized I didn't speak English, they let me go but I realized they were probably looking for the guy shooting heroin at the end of the street. One good point is location if you want to stay out of the city centre. It's a 15 minute train journey. Apart from that, it is ridiculous. When we were checked in we got no information about check out or breakfast just got a key and were asked to pay, no friendly service from staff. The receptionist in the morning did not believe us that we had three people in our room even though they had a copy of each guests passport and made us take our receipt down so we could have breakfast. After we had ea...

The only thing positive worth mentioning is the location. 5 minute walk from the train station. 12 minute with the train to Venice. We had a familyroom with 2 queen beds. Floors are dirty, mould in the shower, toiletseat falls off, wallpaper torn/damaged, Bubbly wallpaper due to mould, dirty bathroom, dirty damaged curtains, outside is a mess, bad breakfast, bad neighbourhood. Keep Windows closed because of musquitoes, Airco working bad. We are experienced travellers and stayed in cheap ...

This is the worst "hotel" I've ever stayed in. I was part of a tour and had been warned several times about this hotel but still wasn't prepared for it. The rooms look like they haven't been updated in fifty years and are very dirty. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in fifty years either. There are hardly any power sockets to charge your electronics. The air conditioning did not work and the rooms were boiling hot, reception did not offer any resolution other than "it may work later".
