Decked in silvery strands of moonlight, the Taj Mahal takes on a heavenly aura at night. Thanks to a ruling of the Supreme Court in 2004, Taj Mahal is now also open to visitors once the sun sets. Tickets are available for night viewing every month for 5 nights around a full moon night, i.e, 2 nights before, on the full moon night and 2 days after the full moon. However, if one of these 5 nights falls on a Friday or in the month of Ramzan, the Taj becomes a beauty which can only be admired from a distance.

The tickets for night viewing of the Taj Mahal need to be purchased from the office of Archaeological Survey of India, one day before the visit. The viewing is conducted in batches of 50, from 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Each batch is allowed to spend 30 minutes in the mausoleum. Visitors are requested to reach the East Gate of the monument 30 minutes in advance from their allotted slot, from where they can enter the monument only after a security check. You can purchase the ticket from the following address:

Archaeological Survey of India
Agra Circle
22, The Mall
Uttar Pradesh
Telephone: +91-562-2227261
Timings: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Cost for Night Viewing

Be prepared for a breathtaking experience and make sure you are camera ready, to capture the best of the Taj and take it home with you!
