Nightlife is conventionally associated with discotheques and bars. However, as Haridwar is predominantly a religious destination, alcohol is prohibited here. As such, there is no scope for visiting bars here. And again, if you wish to dance your nights away, there are rarely any options available.

Still, you need not be disappointed. If you insist on spending a few of your nights in Haridwar out of your hotel accommodation, then we can suggest to you some options. Museums located in several of the Dharamshalas remain open to visitors till late in the night. The various ghats in the town organize evening aartis almost everyday. So, if religious instincts are pushing you, you can stay till late in the night at these ghats, soaking in the sacred atmosphere and relaxing on the steps or the nearby stones. After all, Har ki Pauri remains active till late in the evening. However, do not stay on once that ghats as that might be unsafe.

Besides, many markets also remain open till late hours in the night. And shopping in the illuminating nights is surely going to be a treat.

Also, try the miniature bars available in some high-end hotels such as Radisson Blu, Hotel Divine and Green Valley Resort. As for the discos, there is something small on those lines called DJ located in Bharve Mandir Colony in the city (you can try to contact Mr Anil at 91-98978-03500),

Well, whatever your choice be, do remember that it is an alien city for you. So, it is always better to take safety into consideration and step out at night only with a few companions and not venture into activities or places which may be dangerous. Enjoy, but with precautions!
