Delhi is a darling to those who really enjoy traveling through trains. There is an immense railway network that connects Delhi with other parts of India. One is likely to get trains to almost every part of the country from the different stations namely New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, and Anand Vihar Railway Terminal. All these stations are well connected to the rest of the city by road.

Book tickets online or purchase them from the ticket counters at the railway stations and offices, do whatever but never lose them untill you reach the city’s railway station. Also, check the PNR status of your ticket, whenever there is the need. You could be checked at any time during the journey and if you are not able to show your ticket at that time, you are in danger! Don’t worry, you will not be jailed for it but you will be penalised for it monetarily.

All the foreign tourists should carry their visas and passport just for being on a safe side. All the railway stations in Delhi have pre-paid taxi booths from where you can get a taxi or cabs for anywhere in the city. Finding auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws are also a child’s play. However, follow the golden rule of haggling over fares all the time, that is going to save you some good bucks.

Railway Stations in Delhi are well connected by the Delhi Metro. The stations at Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, and even minor stations like Shahdara enjoy a companionship of everybody’s favourite Metro.

Delhi is never out of options, you just have to have a heart to use them all!!
