about jamshedpur

The first planned city of India, Jamshedpur is a popular tourist destination. Enriched by many natural resources, the city is high in industrial development and is home to numerous major industries of India, most importantly Tata Steels. The city is encompassed in the plush greenery of the Dalma hills and is located on the banks of Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers that offer exquisite scenic beauty.
One of the tourist attraction of Jamshedpur is the bhuvaneshwari temple which is popularly known as TELCO Bhuvaneshwari temple. It is located at a height of 500 ft above sea level atop a small hill. It offers a panoramic view of the city and is frequented by devotees of Adishakti Jagdamba. It is 64 ft high and has a garbha griham which is 32 ft high.
Another popular destination is the Jubilee Park. It was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and is famous for its lighting display on 3 March which is observed as founders day. The park features colourful fountains, Jayanti Sarovar, Smriti Udyan and Foliage Park. There is also a Nicco Park or the recreational centre in the park, where children can enjoy thrilling rides. The Tata Steel Zoological Park and the Upvan of the Jubilee Park are prominent picnic spots. Moreover, on the birth anniversary of the Shri Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the city, this park is decorated with lights and other items.
Another place that you should visit is Jubilee Nicco Amusement Park. It is one of the major highlights of the magnificent Jubilee Park with exciting and thrilling rides for children making it a recreational centre for the little ones. It also provides some leisure time to the parents as they can enjoy the beautiful scenic park without worrying about their kids.
With time, Jamshedpur has started attracting a lot of tourists because of it being close to a beautiful hill and a forest range. It acts like a nodal point for the people travelling to further destinations. Other than the Jubilee Park, there are quite a few other attractions in Jamshedpur to explore. One such attraction is Dimna Lake. It is a man made reservoir and interestingly serves as one of the main sources for the city’s need of drinking water. All the water sports lovers would be interested to know that the lake also has facilities for water sports such as rowing, jet skiing and water scooting.
