In this land of seers and Sufis lies Namisharanya, a centre of Hindu religion and knowledge which has about 30,000 places of religious significance.Some of these places are Chakratirth, Goshai Baba, Lalita Devi Temple and Panch Prayag. A key participant in the Revolt of 1857, this city was established by Emperor Vikramaditya and named after Lord Rama's wife, Sita. Khairabad, which is an important place for the Sufi saints, is also located here.
