Anniversary Weekend away

by 53skee on 25 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

This was my 1st experience of Budapest and therefore the IBEROSTAR. I booked for 3 nights as a 1st wedding anniversary present for my wife and were not disappointed. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff upon arrival and given wine whilst we checked in which was a nice touch. Hotel is in a great location only 5 mins walk from the river and a 10min walk from the town centre. It was also at the end of a no through road too which meant there was no traffic so was nice and quiet. Our room was ...

Great place to stay for first visit to Budapest

by Gordon P on 20 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

My husband and I made our first trip to Budapest in September 2016. We loved, loved, loved the city -- so much to see and experience -- so much beauty everywhere you look. We stayed at the IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel, which only enhanced our overall experience and visit. The hotel was centrally located to the venues we wanted to see -- we could literally walk everywhere. It was in a relatively quiet section of town just across the square from the U.S. Embassy. The hotel staff was very personable ...

the place where plush furniture and shag carpet went to die!

by KennedyBrooks on 16 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

This hotel is part of a well-regarded chain and I stayed happily at other Iberostar properties in Spain many years ago, and this hotel is well located and conveniently accessible by Lyft. However, this hotel is a design nightmare - plush 60s-style furniture and shag carpet are notable features - and that carpet raises serious cleanliness questions in the bedroom! The glass shelf in the bathroom was apparently supposed to be 'cool' but presented a major safety hazard: it protruded into the worksp...

Location and service is wonderful, cleanliness of hotel leaves something to be desired

by BellaFromLA on 14 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Location is wonderful and in an area next to many sites. Staff and service at this hotel is wonderful but cleanliness leaves something to be desired. After a long day of traveling I pull the sheets down to find small body hairs, dust bunnies and holes in the bedding; which shows me that they don't change the sheets after each guest and don't maintain the quality of their bedding. The toilet has urine residue on the outside and I feel like I need to wipe the entire room down with Clorox wipes. ...

First class

by picture1Tredegar on 09 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

We stayed in December for 3 nights. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly while we checked in which was a great first impression. Our room was always warm enough, the bed was comfy and we had a magnificent view over Liberty Square. I'm not too sure about the glass wall around the bathroom though? The staff were always friendly and on hand to answer any questions we had about getting around Budapest. The bar area was nicely decorated although it strangely didn't feel like the kind of ...
