The sunset at Jaisalmer Fort is one sight that stays with you for a lifetime. The dying sun decks the mighty fort in some surreal way, and the gorgeous views linger on till night time descends and the lighting to the fort comes on.
Here are some pictures:
If there's a prince charming out there, I'd please like him to propose here. :D
While travelling from Delhi to Guwati (Assam), I captured these pictures when the train was about to reach Guwati station. Have a look at the pictures and you will see the change in color of the sky. It's only few minutes difference between each shot, which was captured on 29 Dec 2012.
Puri is the only most popular sea-side resort where the beauty of the sky in radiant colours, the roaring waves and the golden beach can be experienced.
Since I am a Mountain Girl , I would go to the secluded places in the hills in India to get that incredible sunset . Each time I go to hills, I come back with such a mesmerizing experiences of sunset that its difficult to name one, still I remember the most incredible sunset in Kausani in Uttarakhand when I last visited in 2011. Apart from that I also remember one of the beautiful sunset in Bhopal while I was there for a study trip from my university. It was simply beautiful.
The best sunset view for me is the sunset over Delhi, that I watch frequetly from the Air Traffic Control Tower at Delhi Airport. An aircraft climbing to its cruising level with the sun in the background looks amazing. It happens during sunrise also. I always want to take the picture of that sunrise and sunset, but never did. I will take it soon.
During my travel, I also witnessed some of the beuatiful sunset across the destinations.
Some of the spectacular and memorable susets, I have witnessed were In the Tiger Reserve of Sri Sailam, From the Birla Temple in Hyderabad, From The Gandhi Park in Dharamshala, From The Mall in Shimla, From The Shashtri Bridge in Allahabad, From Mehtab Bagh behind The Taj Mahal in Agra, From The Angkor Park in Seam Reap, Cambodia, Across the Nile River in Luxor, Egypt and Across the Mediterranean Sea in Alexendria, Egypt.
Some of the most memorable sunsets that I've witnessed. First is by the Ganga at Haridwar, while the second is from Dalhousie.
And this, the third one, is taken from a train en route Dehradun -
I am here realizing that of my best destination, I have hardly clicked Sunsest ;) ... Though I was able to find one, not exactly a sunset but as the sun set happens behind the massive mountains of Ladakh, it offers this dramatic view at Khardung La ..
My favorite places for sunset in India are: Kovalam Beach(Trivendrum), Chapora Fort(Goa, Vagator).
The Best sunset for me has to be in Jaipur overlooking the city
Or Sunset in Mumbai during the Monsoon
If you go to Udaipur, make it a point to go to the Sajjangarh palace and watch the sunset. The setting sun leaves a bright orange hue over the Aravalis and the rows and rows of mountains looks surreal in the shades of green and blue ..
A few pics to give an idea :
Most definitely Galibanda where I took a series of shots as the sun kept sinking!!! http://travel.bhushavali.com/2009/12/gali-banda-chittoor-andhra-pradesh.html
Also I love this shot I took at Navachunai - http://travel.bhushavali.com/2012/02/ezhadipattam-navachunai-pudukottai.html
Gorai Beach!!! - http://travel.bhushavali.com/2010/03/gorai-beach-mumbai-maharashtra.html
Two awesome sunset views which i was lucky to witness were -
Sunset in Thar Desert - The setting sun leaves a beautiful orange color in the backdrop, with sand dunes in front, this is one out of the world experience.
Sunset in Himalayas - The golden color made by the mixture of setting sun and snow capped mountains of himalayas is just one view. Made me remind of ancient fables in which one can only see the nature's treasure of gold at the time of sun set
When home is near Marine Drive, Mumbai then the sunsets there when we are sitting on the parapet with friends is and always the most endearing places to be! :)
