Not at all worth it!

They charge a pretty good amount of money for a petty tour. For the price of Rs 125, all I got to see was some antique furniture, old photos and tea making machinery. The entire tour was over in about 15 minutes. There was this movie about the estate and history of Munnar, but I slept 5-10 mixture into the movie. It was really boring. There were no tea tasting sessions or anything of that sort. When you go to a tea museum, you expect to get some good tea in the price of the ticket. But there was nothing of that sort. There was this machine tea which we get in most corporate offices. That too was chargeable. I was very dissapointed with the tour. When you go to a tea museum which calls itself traditional and renowned and it played an itegral part in the history of the town, a free cup of good tea is expected in the ticket price of Rs 125. Leave that aside even. The movie should be better made. I saw most people sleeping. He whole thing is nothing but a money making scam. It would probably be better if they just ask for a donation of Rs 125 instead of cheating people into paying a high price, since a tourist will only visit this place once.

They charge Rs.75 for entry and Rs.20 for camera but this museum is worth a visit. You can watch a video which is 30mins long about how tea plantations started in Munnar. Lot of old machinery to see and also there is a tea store where you can buy tea/coffee/handmade products at great prices.
