about kheer ganga

Situated at a short distance of approximately 22 km from Manikaran, Kheer Ganga is a verdant meadow nestled in the lap of Parvati Valley. With a delectable assortment of hot springs, cafes and homestays/guesthouses, the place attracts many tourists from India and abroad. A bath in the hot springs will prove to be a rejuvenating and relaxing experience. The trek to this place is interesting and filled with breathtaking sites. A motorable road will take you up till a place known as Barsheni, and from here, you will have to walk on foot. Two paths run along the valley -- one from Nakthan Village and the other from Kalga Village. It is believed that this is the place where Lord Shiva's elder son Kartik remained in samadhi for thousands of years. The population here is scarce and the place is open for tourists for a good seven months.
