Almost every Delhite must have heard about the Lal Kuan Bazar at some point or the other. It  is the wholesale market for hardware and hotel kitchen equipments. Famous for kites, the market is also frequented for a number of well known spice shops and sweet shops. As far as the kites are concerned, there are lines of shops that make and sell their own kites. Coming to this part is a photographer’s delight, for all the bright colours and lively scenes around this area. “Iqra Kite Maker”, located at the Gali Madarsa is one of the oldest and renowned kite shops here, with a loyal clientele who come here from every part of the city to buy their kites, especially during the Independence day. You could get kites of every size & colour possible.

Sharma Ji’s Spice shop is another popular haunt at Lal Kuan Bazaar. They sell every kind of spices or spice mixtures that you might find in your kitchen. Freshly grounded and full of aroma and flavours, this shop is also visited by well known chefs from high end hotels. For the best traditional  kheer made and presented in a typical north Indian style, a visit to Bade Mian's Kheer shop is a must!  Shyam Sweet shop run by Sanjay Aggarwal serves delicious kachoris and samosas and  bedmi puri with alu sabzi.
