Good facilities, poor staff handling

by Abbas H on 13 Dec 2016 (Solo Traveller)

Located just in city-center and a few minutes walk away from Grand Place , Brussels Central Station. So very good location. Nice beds. Towels changed everyday. Hot water and good heating facility Nice antique look and feel of the hotel with winding stairs etc. Staff not friendly. I reached after midnight from Charleroi Airport and no one in Hotel Reception despite phoning them in advance of my arrival and confirming 2-3 times with them. Before check-in asked me to pay full price for all nights....

Could be worse

Early check in allowed and a room upgrade which is good. Not to difficult to find and handy for town and public transport which is another plus. Cheap and cheerful but certainly in need of some refurbishment. Friendly staff and free toiletries. Not the quietest of hotels due to the club at the end of the road. Serves Its Purpose of a Place to Sleep...

We stayed at Le Grand Colombier Hotel for one night while in Brussels. We weren't expecting much from the pictures/previous reviews so weren't really in for a big surprise upon arrival. We had mainly chosen this location as it is within walking distance to the Central Train Station & from the tourist attractions/shops/etc. The location isn't the easiest to find, however. It's situated in an alleyway off of a side street with minimal signage. Luckily we had google maps to direct us.. otherwise we...

We had to leave the room in the middle of the night after seeing it.They took the money before letting us in. I had an asthma crisis after staying in for less than 5 minutes and almost had to go to the hospital. Room looked like a murder scene with the curtains covered in blood. Bathroom looked like it survived Katrina, the mold culture was the most impressive I've ever seen. Very cold and we didn't want to awaken the family of bugs stuck in the radiator. Filthy from floor to ceiling. DO NOT EVE...

Myself and my fiancé stayed here while doing a European tour and this was the worst hotel we ever stayed in. We stayed in hostels that were better than this. We were put in a hotel they call the Aberdeen that is part of this hotel room 28 got bitten between us 15 times big bites too and not mosquito bites. There was this blanket on the bed I'm sure is never washed. He floors felt scummy under our feet like they were never swept or mopped. The laminate flooring was coming away from itself. The w...
