Ruined our stay

by Stephanie B on 25 Nov 2016 (Couple Traveller)

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. On the first night, we ate at their (quite frankly) overpriced bistro where a dog ran around and begged for our food. On the second night, we were exhausted so we decided to get take away pizza and watch a movie in our room. We walked the pizza through the lobby whilst 6 staff stared at us (all they said during this time was 'good evening'). We went up to our room and were about to tuck in when the phone rang. We thought they were calling to ask if we wanted ...

NOT a 5 Star

by TheGl0betr0tter13 on 15 Nov 2016 (Couple Traveller)

It is a beautiful hotel, there is nothing to say about this and the location is amazing with every room facing the sea. However there are many things that did bother me during this stay. I will list a few: - The room are not properly cleaned: I stayed at the hotel for 4 or 5 night and at least twice I came back to the room after it was cleaned but there was still used glasses on the tables or papers on the ground. - A dog in the restaurant: It is the owner's dog. Very nice but still..I didn't se...

Small, elegant and expensive

by Vierdank on 15 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Sometimes, when you look for five star hotels, you find this type of establishment: rather small, wanting to be "cosy" yet elegant, cramped into some outskirt of a famous town - but indeed very luxurious. OK - fine. If you're looking for that type, Le Petit Nice do justice to its name "petit". Having onboard the only three star Michelin restaurant in Marseille the hotel itself mounts on that fact, rising costs for the customers for service and level that not really is there totally. Yes, we had ...

Definitely NOT a five-star hotel

by ax0xa on 05 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

This is never a five-star hotel. Having stayed in a couple recently including one from the same group (Relais & Châteaux) this place fell well short. Firstly you should be aware that even though this is one of the few hotels near central Marseille that has a free car park, the road leading to that car park is breathtakingly narrow. If you’re in a Fiat 500 then it’s not an issue, but if you were driving a Mercedes 500, or in fact any larger sized vehicle, then you may want to be careful. Then ...

Great 5 star hotel!

by frrrrancisco on 07 Sep 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Once you've checked in, you feel like family! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the hotel owner's adorable French Bulldog, Leonce! We have a frenchie at home as well and this made our stay feel even more like we were at home. I think the receptionist gave us a free upgrade? because the rate we paid for definitely didn't seem to match what was advertised. We had our own private terrace! The room we stayed in was amazing! Record player and all, we didn't turn on the television once b...
