The nearest metro station to Lotus Temple is the Kalkaji Mandir station on the Violet Line of the Delhi Metro. The metro station is situated right next to the Kalkaji Park. The entry to the Lotus Temple is via the parking lot, across the road from the gate. The temple complex is beautiful, with pools of water and well-manicured gardens. There are 9 nine pools around the blooming petals of this lotus-shaped temple. People come here to meditate in the inner hall of the temple. You can also enjoy a day outing here as there are many ice cream and snack vendors here. There is no entry fee to enter this temple. The place is open from Tuesday through Sunday between 9 AM and 5:30 PM during winter and till 7 PM during summer. Permission is required for photography.

Many interesting places have cropped up in the vicinity of the temple after the arrival of the Violet Line. The most popular hangout place is Epicuria, which is a food court with all major restaurant chains. Satyam Cineplex is also close-by in case you are in the mood for catching the latest blockbusters! While the nearest metro station to Lotus Temple is Kalkaji Mandir, one also has the option of getting down at the Nehru Place Metro Station. ISKCON temple is also easily approachable from here.
